Spirit of Cardiff visitor centre unveiled

In just two and a half weeks of determined effort, the Spirit of Cardiff visitor centre has been completely transformed into the show piece of the whole project, and on Wednesday November 15 the new centre was formally opened to an invited audience of supporters and journalists.

Marion Drake, Cardiff's Deputy Mayor for regeneration, cut the ribbon to mark the occasion. Then it was hands on with the Raymarine radar and chartplotter, plus the networked PCs set up with RayTech electronic charts, internet access and the ship's log to sign.

Once the formalities were complete the centre was opened to the public, and the first visitors were welcomed in. The centre is now open seven days a week, so if youe are in the Cardiff area come along and say hello!
