Spirit of Cardiff arrives in Baltimore

After a rough 20 hour passage from New York, Spirit of Cardiff arrived in Baltimore yesterday, taking up station in yet another historic maritime environment, this time next door to the USS Constellation, the last surviving sailing ship from the American Civil War.

After a week in New York, the difference here is very marked. The people are far more laid back, and the synergy between Baltimore and Cardiff is immediately apparent. Not all that surprising really, as Cardiff's waterfront redevelopment was modelled on Baltimore's!

The media have been rather quicker off the mark taking notice of the Spirit than in frenetic New York - boat and crew have already been filmed by one TV channel's eye-in-the-sky helicopter, and they have done an interview with the Daily Record, one of Baltimore's daily newspapers.
