Spirit of Cardiff on tour

Since returning from the Atlantic crossing the Spirit of Cardiff crew have been taking a bit of a breather, but this doesn't mean that Spirit hasn't been out and about.

Recent journeys include a trip to Northern Ireland with Motor Boat & Yachting reporter Lester McCarthy, who drove Spirit from Cardiff to Bangor. His article about the experience is due to be published in the October issue of the magazine. Whilst over there, Spirit took a seriously ill youngster for the ride of their life arranged by the Make a Wish foundation. This lead to a 15 minute television news programme, which was an unexpected bonus! Before leaving to return to Cardiff, Alan Priddy met up with other RIB enthusiasts for a cruise in company which was enjoyed by everyone (helped no doubt by a generous quantity of Guinness!).

Since then, Spirit of Cardiff has made flying visits to France and the Channel Islands and will be on show at the prestigious Gunwharf Quay in Portsmouth from 3 September.

On Saturday 15th September Spirit of Cardiff will be back home in Penarth Marina in time for the annual barbecue, which will be followed by her final refit before leaving for Around the World in March 2002.
