For more than a century, the South Wales Echo has been the 'Voice of South Wales'. Since its first appearance in October 1884, the Echo has been at the forefront of reporting on the South Wales area and acting as the champion of local people and their communities. As the community's voice, the Echo is also more than willing to speak out, and champions issues of major concern. The South Wales Echo is the evening newspaper for Cardiff and its neighbouring areas.

Cardiff County Council Cardiff County Council
Cardiff is backing the Spirit project, and acting as host city to the start and finish as well as various other events. We share the visitor centre with Cardiff Marketing whose role is to promote Cardiff to the World.

Yamaha Marine Europe is the marine division of Yamaha Motors who manufacture motorcycles and scooters, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and generators as well as outboard engines and sterndrives. Spirit of Cardiff is powered by a six cylinder 240 hp turbo diesel sterndrive manufactured by Yamaha.

Soltron Soltron
Soltron supply Spirit of Cardiff with their performance enhancing fuel additive. Soltron was initially used for the New York to Azores section od the 2001 Atlantic voyage, with standard diesel from Azores to the UK. Despite the foul weather in the early part of trip, Spirit used almost eight percent less fuel per mile. On this basis the team have been using Soltron regularly since then.
